“If I had one hundred business ideas that needed design, branding and websites, there is no one I would consider other than Alyssa Phillips to hire for those services and lead me through that process. So far, I have had the joy and privilege to work with Alyssa on two projects over the last three years, including web design and miscellaneous designed products for my jewelry business and my nonprofit organization. 

For my jewelry business, she designed the ecommerce website and designed printed marketing materials, including notecards and jewelry packaging cards.

[When I connected with Alyssa,] the [questions] really had me dig into the purpose of my site, and I had to consider some big ideas and small details that were essential for Alyssa to understand my business. That process was probably as beneficial for me as it was for her! The [design] process was seamless. I have focused on building my nonprofit, Sisters in Circles. It was born at the lockdown to make face masks, employing women do sew them at home for a fair wage. We had a basic, functional, website to sell products, but as our programs grew, we needed a new, well designed site. Again, with the same fantastic attributes [Alyssa] brought to my prior website design, we took flight on the Sisters in Circles site. [In] our initial meeting, she asked specific questions about our programs, our impact, our values and mission, and again, the process was invaluable. Alyssa seemed truly engaged, eager to know about what we do, inquisitive, thoughtful, and maintains a curiosity to this day about what’s happening with Sisters in Circles. I was incredibly pleased and excited when she presented me with the awesome site we have today. She tried out some new design elements, which are cool and engaging to people who visit the site. About a year after our site launched, I needed an additional page and some design tweaks to add our newest program. Same as before: quick to respond, open to suggestions, confident in her ability to implement what I needed, and again she went above and beyond. And even after our projects have ended, she follows up, curious to hear how things are going. Alyssa has become my well-respected friend.

A lot of folks that I know, when they go into website design, either want to go the real cheap route and do it all themselves, and the websites I’ve seen created that way are inferior at best. But another thing that’s missing with that type of contractor is a level of depth and an understanding of the backside of the website and how everything is connected together, and how basically the design elements that were done, including primary and secondary logos, can then be transferred to other professional marketing people, and those types of things and also be useful.
