“I feel really proud of the brand and the website. A fully custom brand allows us to stand out and attract clients and talent to grow my team.
[Before working with you,] I needed to grow my business from a solo consultancy to a marketing agency, but my current brand didn’t reflect where I wanted to take the company. I was so impressed by your thoughtfulness and deep diving to find story-worthy details to make the brand not only beautiful but meaningful. The same thing happened with the website.
I feel really proud of the brand and the website. A fully custom brand allows us to stand out and attract clients and talent to grow my team. The process was so proactively communicated and handled smoothly, even when we were deterred by a hurricane. [What stood out about you was] the level of communication and resources! I didn’t have to think about it — it felt like every question I could possibly have was anticipated. The thoughtful touches like including versions in our brand decks to reflect our changes, to launch graphics, to freelancer referrals...WOW.”

“We are happy to have a fresh, clean, modern looking website that ties into our already established brand identity. It sets the tone for our business before even stepping into the office.
Alyssa was very communicative and had a clear timeline and schedule she/we worked with and that made it very organized! It was not overwhelming and she was open to our feedback, but she was also very knowledgeable in the behind-the-scenes information like SEO keywords etc.
[Before working together,] we felt overwhelmed by the idea of creating a whole new website on a platform we weren’t familiar with. Time to complete such a project was daunting when we all have other daily tasks to work on already. We also didn’t know which platform would be the most user friendly and easy to use and make future edits.
We loved that you have worked with us before so you knew a lot about our brand and our colors, logo, etc. It seemed to make your vision more aligned with our vision and that was great!
[After completing our project,] we feel good! We are happy to have a fresh, clean, modern looking website that ties into our already established brand identity. We hope it will attract many new patients and impress them enough to want to schedule. We also like that it sets the tone for our business before even stepping into the office.
Thank you for your creativity and organization! We are very happy with the final product and the ease at which it seems we will be able to edit it in the future.

Our Web Design Process
Many clients tell me they were worried they wouldn’t like their designs, but instead they were blown away.
That’s not an accident.
My tried-and-true process is the result of over a decade of refinement. Every step has a purpose. By the time your project is complete, your brand won’t just look good, you’ll understand understand why it works and you’ll have everything you need to use it with confidence for years to come.
1 — Connection
After you inquire, we schedule a phone call to talk about your business, challenges, and goals. You can ask as many questions as you need to make sure my process feels like a good fit.2 — Making it Official
Once we decide to move forward, a signed contract and initial payment will secure your project in my schedule. I only work on one website or brand at a time, which allows me to focus on your project throughout the process.
Following, we meet briefly to outline your website’s page structure and content. This gives you clear direction for preparing your text, photos, and any other essential materials we’ll need.
Your website content is due one week before your project start date. To help support you in this process, you’ll receive my Copywriting Guide, which walks you through writing each page. Or, I’ll connect you with my vetted copywriters or photographers.3 — Strategy Meeting
On your project start date, we have an in-depth strategy conversation about how your website needs to support your business, values, goals, and audience. This strategy establishes an incredibly strong foundation for design, ensuring your website resonates with the right people and converts them into customers.4 — Direction
I translate everything we talked about into an initial visual direction. This defines the overall look and feel of your website and confirms we’re on the same page before moving into design.5 — Design
You see your complete, fully functional website design reflecting the strategy we’ve established.6 — Refinement
We refine together as-needed. Revisions are intentionally made to ensure your website communicates clearly, feels fully aligned, and works effectively to grow your business.7 — Delivery & Support
Upon your website launch, you receive access to my full video tutorial library teaching you how to update your site yourself. I create custom videos for anything unique to your site.
My delivery process is focused on education and clarity, so you can confidently update your site yourself. But if you need a helping hand in the future, I’m always available to help maintain your website long-term.
From here, I remain available as your design partner for any future graphic design needs so your business can continue to show up professionally and consistently over time.
Meet Your Web Designer
I’m Alyssa, and I’ve been designing websites for my entire career. Here are a few things you can expect when we work together:
Web design done right
Website design is deeply integrated with SEO, accessibility, and user experience strategy. It is incredibly important to me to be able to guide my clients with informed, correct recommendations, and that’s why I have continued to invest in my web design education over the past 10+ years. That means if you hire an SEO or marketing expert later, they won’t tell you your website is riddled with errors, because I already built it correctly. I learned the technical details so you don’t have to worry about them.
Strategic guidance
Your project is a collaboration. You can feel comfortable asking any questions and sharing any ideas, and I will never, ever make you feel silly. It’s your business. Alongside, I always have your best interest in mind, and I’ll always be honest and share my recommendations for how we can make your design most successful.
A long-term design partner
I don’t ditch you as soon as your brand and website are designed. Because my expertise extends across the entire spectrum of graphic design work, I’m here to help with everything from website updates to packaging design to billboards. That means you don’t have to start over with a new designer every time you need a new design piece. I love getting to know your business intimately and working with you for years to come.
Website Content & Collaborators:
I’m fortunate to work with a handful of amazing collaborating businesses that can lend extra hands to help make your website as strong as possible.
Once you book your project, I’m happy to connect you with my partners for the following:

Frequently Asked Questions About the Website Design Process:
-
At this time, I build websites exclusively in Squarespace and Shopfiy.*
*Special note about Shopify: In cases where Shopify is a better fit for your ecommerce store than Squarespace, I collaborate with a great Shopify developer who we can bring into the process to build out the design we work on. This collaboration is a good fit if you’re committed to working with me for my design style and design process, and happy to have a different developer to build your site.
Kindly note that the cost of a Shopify collaboration starts at $10,000.00 and will be custom quoted after our consultation call.

Squarespace is a great option for most small businesses and entrepreneurs because:
It’s simple and all-in-one; most features are built right into Squarespace and don’t require you to update third-party plugins
It allows for modern, customizable, and unique designs
It’s incredibly easy for you to update yourself after the design is done
It works smoothly on computers, tablets, and phones
It’s secure; only Squarespace’s in-house developers have access to its codes and software updates
It includes built-in SEO (search engine optimization) features (although full SEO services are recommended if ranking is important to you)
I'm always happy to chat more about if Squarespace is a good fit for your business.

Please check out my blog post on this topic here!
Optimizing your website to rank on Google is part of SEO, or search engine optimization. There are some foundational design steps that are important for SEO, which I am well informed of and will put into place when building your site. Additionally, I input extra SEO features like page and image descriptions.
While these steps are important, they do not guarantee that your website will show up in Google searches.
Comprehensive SEO requires an entirely different set of skills than design, so I am happy to recommend one of my SEO & digital marketing partners if rankings are important for your business.

Like with SEO, I’m well informed of important foundational steps to take when we’re designing and building your website to make sure we’re following WCAG accessibility standards*.
That said, I am a design expert, not an accessibility expert, and if utmost accessibility compliance is important to your business, I’d be happy to connect you with an accessibility expert who can perform more advanced audits and make any additional recommendations.
*Following website accessibility guidelines means making your website usable for people with disabilities (such as vision or mobility impairment).

In short, no, I do not use AI to create design or build websites for me. I may utilize AI tools to aid certain parts of the web design process, which you can read about in my full AI policy here. My policy outlines how AI is used in my business, as well as what I ask of my clients during our work together.

In order to ensure the best results for your website, our work together is a collaboration.
I help you strategize what content will be on your site and where it will go, and I design and build your website.
You will be responsible for delivering all content (text and photos) 1 week before your project start date, unless we bring one of my copywriting or photography partners onboard to assist you.
During the duration of your project, I ask that you carve out time to be available for meetings and providing feedback on design proofs.
A note that I do require the business owner(s) and anyone else who will have a say in approving final designs (no more than 5) to be involved in the full process and present at all meetings. This is incredibly important to make sure everyone’s thoughts and feedback are heard.
-
When we work together, I provide you with a Copywriting Guide and suggestions for what to write. However, my expertise is in visual design, so I leave writing about your business to you and/or a copywriting expert.
All of your content (copy and photos) must be finalized and submitted 1 week before we start your project. Normally I book several months in advance, so you’ll have plenty of time to work on your text and photos.
As someone who has written my own website copy, I completely understand how overwhelming and difficult a task it can be! If you feel that writing the text for your website will be a challenge for you, I would absolutely love to connect you with one of my vetted copywriting partners before we begin your project.
-
Once we schedule your project, you’ll receive my Copywriting Guide with tips and suggestions for writing your text. Typically you’ll have a few months to work on your content before we get started. All of your content (text and photos) must be finalized and submitted 1 week before we start your project.
If your content is not ready 1 week prior to your project start date, your website design may be pushed back to my next availability with a rescheduling fee.
If you anticipate that gathering content will be a challenge for you (I know it is a huge undertaking!), I would love to connect you with one of my vetted copywriting and/or photography partners to help you with the process.
-
I would love to! If you’re also interested in Branding, please check out my Signature Branding + Web Design Package (outlined above).
Unless you book the Signature package that includes Branding, I do not design or make any adjustments to your logo when I’m designing your website.
-
After we finish your Website, I remain available as your design partner for any future graphic design needs so your brand can continue to show up professionally and consistently over time.
(If you’re looking to work together on a totally separate graphic design project that does not involve website design, please get in touch.)
